Idler

PSC idlers are designed and manufactured to a high degree of precision. These idlers are according of DIN, CEMA, BS and ISO standard and it’s consisting of the following details:

  • All roll components are accurately machined to assure concentricity of assembly. Rollers are  available for belt widths up to3000 mm,in diameters 63,76,89,102,108,114,127,133,140,152,159,168,194 and 219 mm – spindle 15,20,25,30,40,50,60 and 90 mm.
  • Anti-friction bearings are used in all series. These are ball bearing rolls are free turning and provide smooth operating with minimum effort and belt wear.
  • Frames are of sturdy construction with base brackets and foot straps jig-located at assembly to assure accurate roll alignment. Outer shell, center tube and roll ends are pressed together and welded, forming a rigid assembly.

The quality and scope of PSC line of belt conveyor idlers has resulted in their use on the longest single belt conveyor ever built and on the conveyor having the highest lift.

In PSC we have kind of idlers:

Carrying idlers:

Carrying idlers are mounted on the side of the conveyor .The idlers have the weight of belt and handling materials.

 Return Idlers:

Return Idlers are mounted on the underside of the conveyor. The idlers have only the weight of the belt to carry.

 Training Idlers

Return idlers and troughing (Carrying) idlers trainers are used to prevent belts from misalignment. Training idlers should be placed a minimum distance from terminal pulleys and at appropriate distances for the balance of the conveyor.

In PSC we have two categories training idlers as below

  •  Return training idler
  •  Carrying training idler

Impact Idlers:
The area where material comes in contact with the belt, which can cause high impact loads on the belt. Material with coarse lumps may even cut the conveyor belt, so impact idlers areused in this area. The idlers are spaced close together to absorb impact loads.
